The Upper Room Winter Lecture 2016

...ARE BACK! By popular demand the Winter Lectures start on Wednesday 27th January kicking off with Jonathan Maitland asking the question “Why write a play about Jimmy Savile?”. Jonathan Maitland lives locally. From 1988 he reported for Radio 4’s Today programme and BBC News. Since 1999 he has presented ITV1’s flagship current affairs show ‘Tonight’ and the BAFTA-nominated House of Horrors. His first play, ‘Dead Sheep’, was the most successful production in the Park Theatre’s history. His second play, ‘An Audience with Jimmy Savile’, went to Edinburgh after the Park Theatre. The Daily Mail called it “A striking, memorable, urgent piece of work, a powerful j’accuse”.
