In 2013, Finlay Brewer added to the already rich history of the Askew Road by opening its much anticipated second shop in the area, building on two decades of expertise accumulated at its office in Shepherds Bush Road.
It’s a logical move for the firm, and confirms the feeling that Askew Road is an area of huge potential; an area with a spring in its step, a pride in its roots and a confidence in its outlook which acts as a magnet for the kind of independent villagey shops and restaurants that have made other parts of west London so sought-after.
“There are many appealing and desirable properties around Askew Road and we are eager to use our experience, enthusiasm and local knowledge to benefit owners, landlords and tenants,” says director Simon Gresswell.
Until now, that experience has been gathered by specialising in marketing properties in Brackenbury Village and Brook Green. Finlay Brewer points to Leiths School of Food and Wine in Wendell Road, the creative oasis of Kite Studios in Bassein Park Road, the thriving Ginger Pig butcher’s and deli in Askew Road (now seen as the group’s flagship store), the Laveli bakery and Brackenburys delicatessen as evidence that the area is going places.
“With impressive schools, parks, popular pubs and a rich cross-section of restaurants, it is no wonder the neighbourhood attracts an interesting cross-section of families and people looking to add to their quality of life via the area they live,” adds director Teresa Brewer.
