Supporting Our Community

Selling property is the most personal transaction and when we first established Finlay Brewer we believed it is essential to become involved in the local community so as to better understand our clients wants and needs. Working regularly with local organisations we have made many new friends as well as helping raise funds and we are always open to discuss new initiatives. Here are a few of the local organisations and events we have been involved in:



The Upper Room is a charity working with the socially disadvantaged. They work with homeless people, economic migrants and ex offenders to help them improve their lives and conditions and give them the self confidence to become economically independent. Hammersmith United Charities (H.U.C.), a non-profit making charity, they offer grants to organisations working to prevent or relieve hardship or distress in our Area of Benefit. They welcome enquiries from groups of all sizes and are particularly interested in working with groups with strong links to the communities they serve. For More information Click Here




The Hammersmith Community Gardens Association (HCGA) is a local environmental charity who manage several community gardens in Hammersmith and Fulham. We have a range of projects which include conservation training schemes, volunteer gardening sessions, environmental playschemes and environmental education in local schools. Click here for a film about the HCGA




The Shepherds Bush Families Project & Children’s Centre (SBFP&CC) has been at the heart of the local community of Shepherds Bush since 1988. The charity based in Bulwer Street W12, near to Shepherds Bush Green aims to help families who are homeless or have other unmet housing needs and suffer social and economic hardship in Shepherds Bush and the Borough of Hammersmith & Fulham. Click here to support SBFP&CC



The Friends of Brook Green (FBG) was established as an immediate pressure group to ensue a poorly thought out playground on Brook Green was re-designed to benefit the whole community. Now merged with the Brook Green Association the Friends supervise the Green and the greening of the neighbourhood. Askew Business Network is run by a small Committee of local business people. They hold regular talks from local people, hold events like Quizzes and family days out, they hold monthly networking lunches and bring local business’ and residents together! We work closely with them, helping with events and bringing the community together! Click here to find out more about Askew Business Network 



They are dedicated to spreading the love of gospel music through teaching, workshops and concerts. Founded in 2010, Joshua Cadman and Bert Routledge have been running workshops in and around London, facilitating churches and schools, drawing the community together through the fantastic medium of Gospel music. Louisa Cookson displayed her work at our Askew Road Office; she is a graduate of Glasgow’s mackintosh school of art with an honours degree in architecture. She went on to work in the field of architecture for 4 years before becoming a freelance illustrator in 2009. We have a fabulous commission piece made and it is displayed in our Askew Road office…come see it. Click here to see her amazing illustrations…we’re sure you’ll recognise a lot of the streets

Although we don’t take ourselves too seriously, we are serious about our role in the local community. This is why we sponsor the rather eccentric local mag, ‘Brackenbury Village’.
