Autumn Walks in West London

Despite the days getting shorter, summer warmth lingers on! We’ve put together some of the best walking routes in our lovely patch of West London so that you can catch some gorgeous sunsets or enjoy the dwindling light evenings before the clocks go back.

 

1.     HAMMERSMITH BRIDGE TO RICHMOND BRIDGE

Enjoy this 10.3 km point-to-point trail near Hammersmith and Fulham. Generally considered an easy route and takes an average of two hours to complete. This is a very popular area for hiking, and mountain biking, so you'll likely encounter other people while exploring. The trail is open year-round and is beautiful to visit come rain or shine!

2.     PUTNEY HAMMERSMITH THAMES LOOP

Try this 6.6 km loop trail near Hammersmith. It takes an average of one hour to complete and the route is relatively flat and suitable for a wide range of ages and fitness levels. There are lots of pubs and cafes along the way if you wish to stop for refreshments or take a moment to enjoy the wonderful views of the river.

3.     RAVENSCOURT PARK CIRCULAR

This 1.3 km loop trail near Hammersmith is the perfect option for a quick twenty minutes of exercise. The trail is open year-round, you’ll probably end up bumping into your neighbours or local dog walkers!

4.     HAMMERSMITH PUB WALK

The Hammersmith Pub walk is a great opportunity to see some of the sights including Fuller’s Brewery, local shops of Hammersmith and Furnival Gardens. As the name suggests, there will be plenty of pubs to stop at along the way including The Plough & Harrow, The Hope and Anchor, The Dove (one of the first pubs in Hammersmith) and The Black Lion.

5.     HAMMERSMITH TO BATTERSEA PARK

For people wanting a longer walk, discover this 20.9 km trail which starts in Hammersmith and ends in Battersea Park. This is for the experienced hikers as the walk is generally considered a moderately challenging route as it takes on average five hours to complete.
